Technology & Combat Characteristics
After the AGE-2 Gundam AGE-2 Normal was heavily damaged by Sid, the Earth Federation salvaged both the AGE System Core and the AGE Device, while Bisidian members took the remains of the mobile suit, and its pilot, Asemu Asuno. The said scrap parts were taken to the Madorna Workshop to be repaired, but Asemu decided to hide his identity and became a permanent member of Bisidian. He chose to have the mobile suit reworked to hide the fact that he was still alive and the result was the Gundam AGE-2 Dark Hound.
The Dark Hound shared the same specifications as its predecessor, with the exception of the Wear System and the AGE System. Like its predecessor, it is able to transform into a high-speed fighter-like form known as Strider mode, which flies at three times the speed of its MS mode. Its transformation systems have been restored to perfection, resulting in further improved mobility. In this form, it is capable of atmospheric entry. For weapons, the Dark Hound possess a DODS Lancer, two Anchor Shots and a pair of Beam Sabers.
History
Following his battle against the unmanned mobile suit Sid, Asemu Asuno's AGE-2 Gundam AGE-2 Normal (SP Colors) was heavily damaged. The Earth Federation Forces then deployed a rescue team, but this team only recovered the AGE System and AGE Device, leaving behind the rest of the mobile suit as well as Asemu who had left the cockpit and collapsed on another part of the Gundam. The remains of the Gundam and Asemu were later recovered by the space pirate group, Bisidian. Asemu eventually joined the pirate group that was attacking Vagan-affiliated Federation ships, and his Gundam was modified into the AGE-2 Dark Hound.
Upon learning that his son, Kio Asuno, was piloting his own mobile suit, Asemu attacked the Diva in order to test his family. The Dark Hound quickly gained the advantage against Kio's AGE-3 Gundam AGE-3 Normal, using its Anchor Shot and Flash Eye to land clean kicks on the latter. When Kio begins unleasing the AGE-3's superior firepower, Asemu evades the attacks using the Dark Hound's maneuverability. However the battle was interrupted with the arrival of Vagan forces. Thanks to Flit Asuno's command, the Diva would shoot to force the Vagans between the crossfire of it and Bisidian's pilots.
Initially, Asemu would watch Kio adapt to the all-range attack of the Vagans successfully shoot down two units. When Kio is grabbed by two units and a third coming to stab its cockpit, Asemu would finally step in, mirroring the late Woolf Enneacle in cutting down the units holding the AGE-3 but avoiding the Glat Otto's attack and destroying his unit. Having concluded his test, Asemu returns back to his allies.
After the battle, Asemu would be informed of Kio's capture by his former friend, Zeheart Galette and would establish contact with the Diva for plans to rescue Kio. Using the Vagan technology that they had taken, the Dark Hound would successfully infiltrate Second Moon and would find Kio before taking him to the captured AGE-3's location. The pair would be held up outside of colony, however, by Vagan leader Fezarl Ezelcant's Xvm-fzc Gundam Legilis. The Dark Hound would be forced to engage the Gundam Legilis in order to allow Kio to escape. Despite Asemu's attempts, both are held up by the Gundam Legilis' overwhelming amount of Bits and are forced into a corner. When Kio refuses Ezelcant's demand to return and continue his work, Asemu steps in to defend his son. As more Vagan forces begin to arrive, the remainder of Bisidian, having kept themselves invisible until this point, would strike the defenders from behind while Asemu would be pulled away by Zanald Beihart's Xvm-zbc Xamdrag. As the Vagans' superior numbers began to turn the tide, Raddock Horn would force the battle to a halt by using balloon asteroids and threatening to ram through Second Moon with them.
The Vagans would be fooled by the ploy, and Asemu would successfully retrieve Kio's damaged AGE-3 before they would make their getaway. After returning back to Bisidian from meeting his family, Asemu would interfere in a battle between the Vagans and the Federation for the former's strategic Luna Base. Believing that Zeheart would eventually be forced to sortie out to change the tide, Asemu finally joined the battle, and rescued Kio from Fram Nara's Xvb-fnc Fawn Farsia before quickly engaging Zeheart's Xvm-zgc Zeydra. The intense and personal dogfight would continue as Asemu would attempt to warn Zeheart of Ezelcant's desire to wipe out all undesirable humans, regardless of them being Vagan or not. Though Zeheart would refuse to listen, a sudden sensation coming from Girard Spriggan pulls him away from his fight with Asemu, but Asemu would follow them and would join the fight between Kio's new AGE-FX Gundam AGE-FX, Flit's AGE-1G Gundam AGE-1 Glansa, and the Fawn Farsia and Girard's XMS-005 Thieleva. In a sudden flash, a green light would surround all the units in the fight with the exception of the Dark Hound, Girard would take control of all the Bits from the four other units and began attacking everyone wildly.
Realizing that Girard had now gone crazy, Asemu would try and attack her while her attention was drawn to the others, but Zeheart would surprisingly stop Asemu's attack. The wild battle would finally end when Kio would tackle and try to reason with Girard, but she is put down instead by Flit. Meanwhile, the Federation forces would infiltrate Luna Base and informed the Vagans that they would have to surrender or face a barrage of Plasma Diver Missiles. The Vagan forces were forced to surrender, and the attack would be called off before any further casualties.
While examining Second Moon's suspicious movements near Earth, Bisidian would find Zeheart, now piloting the Gundam Legilis, engaged with Sid, the same unmanned mobile suit that had injured Asemu so many years prior. Reluctantly, the Dark Hound lept into action and the pair would tenuously work together but struggled to keep up with Sid's Invisible Umbrella stealth system. In response, Asemu grabbed the unit with the Dark Hound's anchors, but was thrown wildly and was eventually forced to detach both anchors at the cost of allowing Zeheart in getting a clean hit on Sid and finishing the mobile suit with a beam saber stab. Rather than follow Zeheart, however, Asemu began to examine what Sid had been guarding and was shocked to find the EXA-DB huddled inside the asteroid near Sid. Though he and Zeheart would briefly fight, the rest of Bisidian would destroy EXA-DB.
With a decisive end coming as Second Moon was now seeking to attack and take Earth, Bisidian would ally with the Federation, and the Dark Hound would engage the Vagans' X-Rounder corps as they stalled for La Gramis' Digmazenon Cannon to charge up for an attack. This would only be furthered as Flit informed the others that the cannon's charge up time was only hastened thanks to Second Moon. Knowing the symbolic Diva would be too tasty a target to, Flit orders for Asemu and Kio to cover the Diva's crew during their evacuation to the Baronche before they too escaped the beam cannon's line of fire. Barely dodging the attack, Asemu would quickly attack Zeheart, who had departed upon learning that all three Gundams had escaped unscathed.
The Dark Hound quickly engaged the Legilis, succeeding in cutting off both arms and exposing its cockpit. After a brief and emotional exchange, Zeheart kicks his damaged unit away from the Dark Hound before exploding before Asemu. As a last resort with Zeheart's death, Fezarl sends in Zera Gins with the massive Xvg-xxx Vagan Gear, a clone with all his genes but not held back by his heart, to wreak havok on the Federation forces. While the three Gundams work together, the Vagan Gear is suddenly grabbed from behind by Sid, having repaired itself from earlier fight with the Dark Hound and Legilis. The newly combined Vagan Gear Sid would now attack La Gramis, and threatened to destroy both it and Second Moon. With little choice, both Asemu and Kio rush to try stop the unit, but the pair realize that Flit was now going to use the opportunity to destroy the Vagans with a Plasma Diver Missile. Both the Dark Hound and the AGE-FX quickly moved in front of the missile and successfully convinced Flit to work with the Vagans instead to stop the rampaging mobile suit and sever La Gramis's connection with Second Moon.
Finally putting his life-long hatred behind, Flit opens a public channel, ordering all Federation forces to cease fighting and help the Vagans sever La Gramis' connecting rods and stop the Vagan Gear Sid. Once all the sides put their differences aside, the two groups, including the Dark Hound, would work together to rescue Second Moon while Kio engaged Zera and eventually stopped him, putting an end to the battle and feud between both the Federation and the Vagans.
