Technology & Combat Characteristics
The AMA-X4 Ahava Azieru is a prototype mobile armor (MA) for Newtype pilots, and was developed at the Maharaja Khan Memorial Institute as a direct successor to the AMX-002 Neue Ziel. It served as a testbed for Newtype mental sensitive technology, which would later evolve into the Psycho-Frame. The expertise gained during its development contributed to later Newtype-use MAs such as the NZ-333 α Azieru and the AMA-X7 Shamblo. It is also said that Char Aznable, together with Arlette Almage, played a role in its development. Equipped with an I-field generator and multiple high-output beam weapons, its operational concept was believed—by Quentin Fermo, who fought against it—to have been focused on base assault operations.
Development of the unit began around the time of the Gryps War, but following the Second Neo Zeon War, it was abandoned inside Axis for many years, leaving it incapable of normal operation. Despite this, Arlette used Char's ID—retrieved from the wreckage of the Sazabi stranded on Axis's surface—to activate the mobile armor in order to intercept the RX-78KU-01 Kurwenal. However, because it was unfinished and Arlette was not its intended pilot, the machine was unable to fully demonstrate its combat potential and was severely damaged in the ensuing battle.
History
This mobile armor was left incomplete within Axis. The unit was later reactivated hastily by Arlette to fight against the Birnam mobile suits. It engaged the RX-78KU-01 Kurwenal however the outdated mobile armor was disarmed and rendered immobile.
