The Anchor V4 is the upgraded form of the Anchor V3, replacing the “V3 Thruster” Minovsky Drive unit with the “V4 Thruster”. The V4 Thruster was developed in tandem with the V3 Thruster, but was not completed at the same time, with its performance lacking when the V3 Thruster was rolled out. In addition to the V4 Thruster, the Anchor V4 has removed the Heat Ceramic Bullets from its chest, added an additional Rotating Shield, and is now equipped with an escape parachute in case the Anchor V4 is destroyed.

During the development of the V3 and V4 Thrusters, the V4 Thruster was referred to as the “Dust Thruster”. This nickname was derived from the fact that the V4 Thruster used explosions as a propellant. Coincidentally, the V4 Thruster’s shape resembled those of the Crossbone Gundams, and thus the Anchor V4 is sometimes referred to as the “Crossbone Gundam Dust”.
