Technology & Combat Characteristics
A redesigned version of the Diona. It used parts from the EMS-12 Arana and various other small mobile suits, making the unit lighter. Because it was a demonstration unit that wasn't meant for actual combat, it lacked basic armaments such as beam sabers or even a beam shield. SNRI’s engineering division would replace its original thrusters with larger, wing-like thrusters. Two storage containers were also installed on the mobile suit, increasing its utility as a support unit. The Angel Diona was docked with the Speed King's Minovsky Flight Unit, allowing it to use its "Wings of Light" system.
History
The Angel Diona was built from the same Diona that Europa used to escape her pursuers. Serving as the commander unit of Steel 7, it was docked with the Minovsky Drive Flight Unit taken from the Speed King, allowing the team to reach the Jupiter colony laser in one week using its "Wings of Light" system.
At the start of the mission, the Angel Diona detached from the flight unit, using it as a battering ram to strike the colony laser. However, it was destroyed by the Callisto Twins and their new mobile suits, the Dictus. During the battle, it supplied the remaining Steel 7 team members with various equipment.
The Angel Diona and the X-1 Full Cloth launched a final assault inside the colony laser. They engaged in one last fight with the Dictus, defeating Callisto's Light but left both mobile suits heavily damaged. Mortally wounded, Europa threw the inoperable X-1 out of the exploding colony to save Tobia. The Angel Diona, along with its pilot, perished in the destruction of the colony laser.
