Technology & Combat Characteristics

The EES-001 Gundam Zirius is the state-of-the-art Mobile Suit (MS) developed for Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) by East End Corporation for Solar System Alliance's Outer Space Exploration Plan. The Gundam Zirius itself is part of the EES MS series, a next-generation purpose MS that emphasizes modularity that can be equipped with various equipment to suit any combat situation.

The main feature of the Gundam itself was the Feather Extension mounted on its back, a special equipment based on the research data gathered from the Aliens code-named Mother Swan, which acts as the Gundam's heat sink. It can also be used to control crystal-like objects and use them as flying blades against the Kaiju forces. Another special feature of the Gundam is the capabilities of self-repair if the Gundam suffers some damage to certain extent, but it is unknown whether this feature is exclusive to the Gundam Zirius or all EES Gundam type MS. Additionally the Gundam was equipped with a high output Beam Rifle, and Shield that can be used for melee attacks if the situation demands.

History

In Kōreki 2030, the Gundam Zirius was deployed and piloted Naomi Subaru to defend the last Space Shuttle on the last mass driver facility on Earth against the overwhelming Kaiju forces. During the battle it managed to destroy many of the Kaiju Grunts using the crystal-like object and defeat the Kaiju Gundam. Unfortunately it was heavily damaged when a Giant Kaiju appears, but it was able to successfully defend the Space Shuttle and destroy the Giant Kaiju in the process.
