Technology & Combat Characteristics
The Extreme Mystic Phase represents the Extreme Evolution EX- had sought after, a symbol of despair. Unlike the previous three phases, the Mystic Phase was not developed on Jupiter X, but is rather a merger of the Extreme Gundam and the fabled "Mist Pegasus" mobile armor unearthed from a mountain range in Correct Century with the help of Gym Ghingham. The Mist Pegasus's form grants it a unique quadruped leg form with wings, giving it the appearance of a winged centaur with a multipurpose dual lance as its weapon of choice. Similar to the other packs, the Mystic Phase utilizes a certain element, wind-based attacks in this case. When using this pack, the Extreme Gundam's head transforms into a shape similar to the one used for the Ignis Phase, though its face structure is more angular. It also features an additional decorative crown atop its v-fins. When not docked, the Mist Pegasus can serve as a mount, identical to Fuunsaiki.
History
In Gundam EXA, the Mystic Phase was created when the Extreme Gundam merged with the Mist Pegasus excavated from the Mountain Cycles of the Moon. It engaged in battle with Leos in his own Extreme Gundam. The Mystic Phase gave EX- a tremendous advantage against Leos and, using the Oblivion Meteor, bound the G-Diver and instilled in him a crippling despair. When Sthesia arrives in Leos' cockpit however, the tides turn as the Type-Leos evolves into the EXA Phase and is defeated by its EXA Full Burst.
Towards the end of the manga, EX- uses the Mystic Phase once more and dives into 0079 to evolve even further by attempting to kill Amuro. He is repelled however by Lalah Sune in her Elmeth. Rejected again, he uses the Despair Butterfly in an attempt to destroy everything, his despair even causing the recently summoned G-Divers to turn on each other. He then begins to infiltrate the other universe datascapes, but due to Leos' connections with them, the Extreme Gundam is repelled and damaged by the Gundams in each of them until the armor falls apart and vanishes.
