Technology & Combat Characteristics
The C (Coldness) Type is one of the Mission Packs for localized combat, and is specifically designed for operation in cold climates. The most distinctive feature is the foldable ski unit that is attached using the hardpoints on the legs. Compared to the H-Type mission pack, which enables hover travel, its maneuverability in areas with heavy snowfall has been greatly improved, making it possible to move and glide smoothly even on hard snowfields and frozen ground. In addition, the skis can be folded in areas where it is difficult to glide, allowing the unit to be worn while walking.
Similarly, as a measure against cold climates, the ski unit, lower back, and shoulders are equipped with additional heating units to protect against the cold. The heat emitted from the unit had the effect of preventing snow adhering to the armor and joints from freezing, minimizing any reduction in maneuverability. In addition, a mantle hanging down from the heater unit on the shoulders, to cover the upper body, ensures that heat is distributed efficiently. This allows the F90 to demonstrate its true combat power even in cold regions.
