Technology & Combat Characteristics
The F90D Gundam F90 Destroid Type is one of the many mission packs developed for the F90 Gundam F90 by the Strategic Naval Research Institute. The Gundam F90 Destroid Type (or "D-Type" for short) is designed to overpower the enemy's main force and has high mobility as well as heavy firepower. Its typical operating pattern involves attacking the enemy's main force/base, then engaging in close-range combat to mop up the remaining enemy units. Its mobility is heightened thanks to the booster packs on the legs, while its heavy firepower is provided by the large number of close combat firearms, such as a Gatling gun, crackers, grenades and rockets.
History
In. U.C. 0120, the F90 Gundam F90 and several of its mission packs, including the D-Type, were assigned to Ra Cailum-class Admiral Tianem as part of the 13th Experimental Battle Group. During the First Oldsmobile War that occurred later in the same year, the D-Type mission pack's grenade rack, rocket pack, and MS crackers was used by Def Stallion's Gundam F90 Unit 1 together with the A-Type mission pack's mega beam bazooka, and several weapons from the S-Type mission pack, and this form was nicknamed "Gundam F90 A.D.S Type". The F90 A.D.S Type provided fire support to EFF forces that attacked the Oldsmobile's Olympus Mons fortress, and later fought against the enemy's OMS-90R Gundam F90. Despite being heavily damaged, the F90 eventually emerged victorious.
In. U.C. 0122, Gundam F90 Unit 1 and its D-Type mission pack were assigned to the Ra Cailum Class Abrams, during the Second Oldsmobile War. Piloted by Bergh Squelette, the Gundam F90 D-Type was assigned to flank the Oldsmobile forces led by Charles Rochester and it took down multiple MS that tried to destroy the Abrams. Sometime later, the Gundam F90 D-Type defeated a OMS-09RF RF Dom and two OMS-06RF RF Zakus that were causing troubles in a space colony.
