Technology & Combat Characteristics
The X-Type is one of the many Mission Packs developed for the F90IIIY Cluster Gundam by the Strategic Naval Research Institute. The X-Type is a G Mecha designed as an unmanned support fighter to work in conjunction with the F90IIIY. It was designed in mind to combined the high thrust power of the P-Type, and mobility of the F-Type mission pack, while also carry high firepower in a single specialized equipment. This mission pack itself comprised of a large backpack unit equipped with four long booster units with thrust vector nozzles, shoulder armors, additional generators on the front skirts and wing units on the legs. It main armaments called "Zenovia" a pair of composite weapon comprised of high output beam cannons, with beam shield integrated within it. While this mission pack is mainly designed for the F90IIIY, other F90 units are capable of using its equipments.
History
In U.C 0121, the F90 Gundam F90 Unit 1 was deployed with X-type backpack unit alongside OMS-90R2-X Mars Gundam Half X Type, during a terrorist attack by Pan African Liberation Army led by MSK-008 Dijeh (Karavina Marmoset Custom) on Earth Federation Forces (EFF)'s Manyara base on Africa. During the battle it manage to takedown both RF Dwadge and RF Zaku Mariner, but it was ambushed by the OMAM-11 RF Rock in the process.
After the battle with the Pan African Liberation Army, the X-Type was transferred to space for further testing with the F90IIIY Cluster Gundam.
