History
During the development of the G-Saviour in U.C. 0222, the Saviour team considered using the frame unit, but the individual joint units were small, causing slight torque loss. The frame unit was subsequently shelved as its performance under gravity was considered inadequate. However, after the Battle of Gaea in U.C. 0223, high maneuverability and high responsiveness was sought, particularly in zero gravity conditions. As such, the Saviour team continued development on the shelved frame, and a new system for maneuvering under gravity was developed. The final result is an improvement over the G-Saviour in terms of speed and maneuverability. The performance of the frame unit proved so exceptional that it became the new standard for Illuminati's mobile suits, such as the J-Saviour. Additionally, equipment tested on the G2-Saviour was later incorporated into the G3-Saviour.
