Technology & Combat Characteristics
The GN-006/SA Cherudim Gundam SAGA (aka Cherudim Gundam SAGA, Cherudim SAGA, Seven Guns) is a variant of the GN-006 Cherudim Gundam introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam 00V. Known pilots included Lockon Stratos and Leo Sieg.
History
About a month had passed since Amy Zimbalist caused a major incident that shook the world. Despite his great record on the battlefield, Amy was also involved in several incidents, including women related ones, that brought shame on the Earth Sphere Federation Forces (ESF Forces). Instead of a demotion, Amy was transferred to a remote, asteroid base as punishment. Amy disliked this base. It was not only boring, but most importantly, there were very few female personnel. It was not hard to see why the ESF Forces had Amy was sent here. Amy wished for the base to be attacked by enemy forces, so that he could launch in his mobile suit and vent his frustrations in battle.
Several hours later, Amy deeply regretted his wish as the base came under attack by the worst enemy – a Gundam. In the cockpit of Amy's GNX-604T Advanced GN-X, the voice of a female operator sounded, alerting him to an unknown enemy unit infiltrating the asteroid base. Amy's first reaction was to wonder where this lady had been all this time, but after hearing her report in full, he could not help but be shocked by the enemy's attack. The enemy unit had infiltrated the base at a lightning speed and was heading deeper. The base's passageways could accommodate a mobile suit, but they were quite narrow and not designed for combat. Despite this, the enemy was able to destroy the defending mobile suits accurately and pushed forward.
Only two things were known about this enemy unit: its use of short-barreled guns, and its resemblance to the shooting type Gundam deployed by Celestial Being, but it was unclear if it was an equipment variation or a successor unit. Although the base's security cameras were continuously tracking the Gundam, it immediately destroyed them whenever it spotted one, making collecting information on the enemy unit difficult. As an ace pilot, Amy exceled in freely maneuvering his mobile suit. Thus, battling in the base's narrow passageways did not suit him, and he had no intention of fighting a losing battle. Amy thus decided to head out of the base and intercept the Gundam as it escaped. He also considered the possibility that the Gundam had ran out of ammunition by then.
Amy's decision ended up saving his life. Just as he spotted the Gundam outside the base, the entire base went up in flames as the explosives planted by the Gundam in the center of the base exploded. Amy cursed, and immediately attacked the Gundam. As he predicted, the Gundam's firearm fell silent after firing a few shots and was discarded. Amy initially wanted to seize the opening and pressed on with his attack, but was forced to reconsider when a new gun appeared in the Gundam's hand. This then repeated a few more times, causing Amy to complain that the Gundam was not playing fair by carrying so many guns. In the end, Amy's Advanced GN-X ran out of energy, and the Gundam calmly left.
With the current Earth Sphere Federation administration pursuing a conciliatory policy, the Celestial Being adopted a new modus operandi, where it carried out armed interventions only when necessary and on a small scale, without revealing the organization's identity. Additionally, with the primary Ptolemaios Team unable to move freely and their new Gundams still under development, the disbanded support team Fereshte was re-established as a second team to conduct some of the armed interventions. For its missions, the Fereshte used rebuilt version of the Gundams badly damaged during the battle with the Innovators. One such Gundam was the Cherudim Gundam SAGA.
An asteroid base, abandoned by Celestial Being, was discovered and taken over by a terrorist group who was unaware of its history. Fereshte's Gundam Meister, Leo Sieg, deployed in the Cherdium SAGA to stop the terrorists from using the base. Leo/Cherudim SAGA hid behind an asteroid some distance away from the asteroid base and identified two MSJ-06II-E Tieren Space Types guarding it. After bouncing off several asteroids to get closer, Leo/Cherudim SAGA sniped the first Tieren Space Type, hitting its mono-eye rail and disabling its main camera. Leo/Cherudim SAGA then moved behind the second Tieren Space Type and disabled its propulsion system with two well-placed shots. As a former HRL mobile suit pilot, Leo was very familiar with the Tieren Space Type. Leo/Cherudim SAGA subsequently shot and destroyed a few structures on the surface of the asteroid base before infiltrating the base.
In the base, Leo/Cherudim SAGA released GN Mines from the GN Missile Container near the base's powerplants and activated their timers. Leo/Cherudim SAGA then escaped from the base, and with the GN Mines blowing up the powerplants one by one, the asteroid base was destroyed while giving members of the terrorist group sufficient time to escape. With its mission accomplished, Leo/Cherudim SAGA retreated. Upon returning to base, Sherilyn Hyde, Fereshte's mechanic and Ian Vashti's disciple, asked for Leo's feedback on the Gundam. Leo replied that it was not bad, and while its overall performance was slightly inferior to the original, it was not much of an issue. He then praised Sherilyn's skills, remarking that from the Gundam's movements, one could hardly tell that it was built from a severely damaged mobile suit.
Leos Alloy arrived in the simulation of the Anno Domini timeline sometime after the conflict in AD 2312 and before the appearance of the ELS. To obtain data on the Innovators, Leos wanted to isolate Setsuna F. Seiei, so he leaked two rumors to Celestial Being: one of a group trying to manufacture artificial Innovators and another of a terrorist group in space. As he predicted, Setsuna requested to do the former mission solo, while Lockon was sent out in the Cherudim SAGA to deal with the latter. While Leos only intended for Lockon to be occupied so that he could "borrow" the GN-002RE Gundam Dynames Repair for a duel with Setsuna, his plan was disrupted when EX- and his Extreme Gundam Tachyon Phase appeared before Lockon. The Cherudim SAGA was overpowered and decapitated by the Extreme Gundam Tachyon Phase, with Lockon injured in the process. EX- then took the Cherudim SAGA's head to Leos on Earth to taunt him during his battle against Setsuna.
