Technology & Combat Characteristics
The Innovades that called themselves Innovators wanted a powerful machine that could battle multiple enemies single-handedly so as to display the small, elite group's overwhelming might. This led them to develop large mobile armor equipped with multiple GN Drive Taus, resulting in the GNMA-0001V Regnant. Although the Regnant was given to A-Laws pilot and sponsor, Louise Halevy, this did not change the fact that it was developed for the Innovators' use and the group had a plan to mass produce the mobile armor. A second unit of the Regnant, the GNMA-0001V2 Regnant 2, was thus developed as a template for mass production.
The Regnant 2 retained the original Regnant's weaponry and mechanism for transforming from mobile armor form to mobile suit form. Additionally, there is no major differences in basic performance between the two, with the Regnant 2 also having mostly the same structure as the original, with the exception of its head, which was changed following a review of the sensor system design. The Regnant 2's new head has a wider sensing range, and this was thought to have a positive impact on the usage of the mobile armor's weapons. Rollout of the Regnant 2 was just around the corner when the final battle with the Celestial Being broke out, but unfortunately, the Innovators was defeated before the mobile armor could be completed.
History
The Innovators did not have a chance to deploy the Regnant 2 as it was still on verge of rollout when the group was defeated. The original GNMA-0001V Regnant was able to engage multiple Gundams by itself, and if the Regnant 2 and subsequent mass production machines were put into combat, it was thought that this would cause the final battle with Celestial Being to turn out differently. With Celestial Being defeated, the Innovators would continue interfering greatly with human society. Needless to say, the encounter with the alien lifeform, the Extraterrestrial Living-metal Shape-shifter, would also be affected and whether the "dialogue" could be established is unknown.
