Technology & Combat Characteristics
A newly developed humanoid machine operated by the Earth Sphere Federation (ESF) in AD 2364, the GNW-100A Sakibure was classified as a Work Loader because it was not designed for combat. However, many considered it to be a Mobile Suit due to its high performance. Notably, it has GN Condensers on several parts of its body, and can be powered by an original GN Drive installed in the center of its torso. The original GN Drive is newly developed, but it is still produced in the Jupiter Sphere like the initial five original GN Drives used by the Gundams in AD 2307 to 2312. Since the original GN Drive remains rare, only a small number of Sakibures utilized it as a power source. A Sakibure that is powered by an original GN Drive, and jointly piloted by human and ELS is regarded as a high-end model. For jointly piloted Sakibure, it is best for the human pilot to be an Innovator, as this enables easier communication with the ELS via quantum brainwaves.
History
In AD 2364, the Earth Sphere Federation's new spaceship "Sumeragi" embarked on its deep space exploration mission, and a number of GNW-100A Sakibures were carried on board the ship. The Sumeragi's Sakibure Unit 1, piloted by ELS-Innovator hybrid Leonard Fiennes, quantum jumped ahead of the ship's launch and discovered a new lifeform on a planet in an unexplored region of space. A picture of Sakibure Unit 1 landing on this planet was taken by the accompanying Sakibure Unit 2. The new discovery was relayed back to Sumeragi, and this planet became the ship's first destination.
