Technology & Combat Characteristics
The Gump is a large 20m mobile suit owned and piloted by Grey Stoke, an influential man within the Jupiter Energy Fleet. There are speculations that the Gump is based on the MSZ-010S Enhanced ZZ Gundam, but as the mobile suit underwent repeated modifications, very little of its original form was left, and it could not be confirmed that it is indeed based on the Enhanced ZZ Gundam. It has been suggested that Grey Stoke constructed the Gump based on his personal preferences, using parts from prototypes and other mobile suits from the same era as Enhanced ZZ Gundam that he had acquired himself.
Due to being repeatedly modified, the Gump's appearances changed with the passage of time. In U.C. 0103, it vaguely resembled the Enhanced ZZ Gundam, but with a concealed head and noticeable differences in various parts of its body. By U.C. 0136, its left forearm was replaced by a large plier, and it was equipped with new waist armor based on AMX-014 Döven Wolf's heel parts. In U.C. 0153, the Gump was largely similar with the previous version, except its right leg was replaced by a peg leg machine gun unit. Thanks to Grey Stoke's excellent piloting skill, the Gump remained a formidable unit even as its performance degrades due to its old age. Unfortunately, its ageing generator could not handle the stress, and exploded when the mobile suit was pushed to its limit. However, Grey Stoke managed to escape unharmed.
History
In U.C. 103, the Gump was deployed and piloted by Grey Stoke to rescue a shuttle containing young escapees after it nearly crashed into an asteroid set by Damien Karras. Karras later abducted the escapee's leader, forcing Grey Stoke and his Gump to fight the JMW-07 Mono Arm. During the battle, Grey Stoke managed to damage the Mono Arm, but the Gump lost its left arm to Mono Arm's hyper vibrating wire. Fortunately, Karras released the escapee's leader later, and the Gump survived the encounter.
Later in U.C. 0136, Grey Stoke piloted the Gump to fight alongside the Crossbone Vanguard during the siege of Jupiter Empire's secret asteroid base. In the battle, the Gump took out several EMS-06 Batallas, before it was ambushed by the Amakusa. The Gump's right leg was later destroyed by the Amakusa's Hyper Hammer, but it continued fighting the enemy alongside the XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X-1 Kai Kai "Skull Heart".
In U.C. 0153, the Gump rescued the drifting Uso Ewin in his LM312V04+SD-VB03A V-Dash Gundam, after it was chased by Zanscare Empire's ZM-GE-03 Zong. While engaging the Zong, Grey Stoke was forced to fire the Gump's hidden High Mega Cannon, revealing a head that resembled the Enhanced ZZ Gundam's in the process. With aid from Grey Stoke and his Gump, Uso managed to defeat the Zong using his V-Dash Gundam, but the Gump exploded due to its ageing reactor. Fortunately, Grey Stoke escaped using the FXA-07GB Neo Core Fighter and returned to the Dandelion colony.
