Technology & Combat Characteristics
The Scheherazade was a prototype Gundam used in a conflict known as the Second Lunar War, being completed after the XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero and before the five Gundams used in Operation Meteor. After the war, it was dismantled and stored in a Winner family resource satellite. Decades later in Mars Century 0022, the Scheherazade’s remains were discovered by the Preventer and Doktor T was tasked to reconstruct it for Operation Mythos.
The Scheherazade specializes in close-quarters and “point-blank” combat, moving in swirling motions similar to a belly dancer while using its jambiya to cut into targets, either through direct slashes or severing frame connections such as joints and drive circuits; its speed is also remarkable—fast enough to leave afterimages. Compared to the Gundams Instructor W completed after being recovered, the Scheherazade was only 80% complete when it saw combat in M.C 0022, with parts of its frame visibly exposed.
History
The Gundam Scheherazade was one of four prototype mobile suits created by the five Gundam Scientists that saw use in the Second Lunar War. Lucrezia Noin initially served as its test pilot in a colony destruction operation in A.C 187, and Quatre Raberba Winner in A.C 188 commandeered it while being transported near the L-4 Colony Cluster, briefly fighting with the Prometheus Gundam attempting to retrieve the unit. At some point following the war, it was dismantled and stored along with the other prototype Gundams in a hangar on a resource satellite owned by the Winner family.
In M.C 0022, the prototype Gundams were rediscovered by the Preventers and are tasked to Instructor W and Doktor T to be restored for Operation Mythos.
After Babel destroys part of Relena City with its Zwölf Zwerg supercannon, Relena decides to surrender to the Lanagreene Republic and has Heero accompany her in a transport to the fortress. On their way, Trowa in the Prometheus and Duo in the Scheherazade attempt to shoot down the transport, leaving Heero to call in the Snow White from the Voyage. The Voyage jettisons the capsule containing the Snow White and Heero lands the transport to board. The Prometheus and Scheherazade attempt to destroy the capsule but are unsuccessful; both suits end up being immobilized after the Snow White fires its Sieben Zwerge Grün, covering them in thick vines.
In a final assault against Babel, Katherine pilots the Scheherazade and destroys several mobile dolls, until she encounters Stella Noventa piloting a Mars Suit. Stella activates an image trace of Zech Merquise and gains his abilities; in response Katherine activates an image trace of Lucrezia Noin and the two of them proceed to duel. After the Snow White disables Babel using its Sieben Zwerge Gold, Katherine and Stella’s machines are the only ones left moving in the vicinity, with both agreeing to stop fighting each other.
