Technology & Combat Characteristics
The Wodom (short for "Walking Dome") is a large mobile suit for anti-ship combat used by Dianna Counter. The head unit functions as both a generator and a weapon block, equipped with hatch-type anti-air missiles, anti-air vulcans, and a beam cannon. This beam weaponry is designed for anti-ship use and is not typically deployed for ground combat. Additionally, more missiles are mounted on both sides of the head unit. The Wodom's most distinctive feature is its towering height of approximately 40 meters and its unique form, where limbs appear to extend directly from a hemispherical head. Due to this peculiar appearance, the Wodom was expected to serve as a psychological weapon, instilling fear in Earthlings and decisively crushing their spirit of rebellion without the need for combat.
Primarily designed for long-range combat, the Wodom, due to its massive size, is often outmaneuvered in close-quarters combat. To counter this, rockets and machine guns are positioned within the head's hatches. The surface of the Wodom is covered with Nano-Skin (Nano-Surface Kinetic Improvement) like the System-∀99 ∀ Gundam, providing high defensive capabilities. The cockpit is located in the waist section, housed in a cylindrical block that offers significantly more space compared to other mobile suits. It can be configured as either a single or dual-seat type, enabling both the pilot and a unit commander to co-occupy it when the Wodom is used as a command unit. These units were discovered in the Lunar Mountain Cycle. The unit stationed on the Sackträger features a predominantly red color scheme.
History
The Wodom was excavated from a Mountain Cycle on the Moon. It was the backbone of the Dianna Counter forces, and was also used by the Moonrace forces stationed on the orbital elevator Sackträger. One of the first units to be used on Earth was piloted by Poe Aijee, and her attacks on Inglessa led to the reactivation of System-∀99 ∀ Gundam, buried in the while doll statue.
