Technology & Combat Characteristics
The Val Walo was a mobile armor developed by the Principality of Zeon military near the end of the One Year War. It is believed to be a successor or improved variant of the MA-05 Bigro, but its form and structure also has similarities with the MAM-07 Grublo. The Val Walo was equipped with a variety of weapons, including a pair of large claw arms, a large mega particle cannon, a pair of anti-air beam guns, four 110mm vulcan guns, and two missile pods. Its most unique weapon was the Plasma Leader, an improved variant of the Adzam Leader used by the MAX-03 Adzam, which could disable enemies caught within its electromagnetic field.
In U.C. 0083, former Zeon pilot Kelley Layzner secretly restored a Val Walo in his junkyard in Von Braun. Having lost his left arm during the war, he modified his unit to be operable using only one hand. Since this unit was the only known unit to see combat, it is unclear how much it differed from the original Val Walo.
History
In the last few weeks of the One Year War, a variant of the MA-05 Bigro was produced, the MA-06 Val Walo. However, only three units were built at Granada, and saw combat at A Baoa Qu. One unit survived the war and was repaired by one-armed Zeon pilot Kelley Layzner in his junkyard in the depths of the Lunar city Von Braun.
In U.C. 0083, Kelley joined forces with his old wingmate Anavel Gato to help him in the Delaz Fleet's Operation Stardust. Kelley modified the Val Walo so that could pilot it in his one-armed state and attacked the Albion (MSC-07) while it was docked at Von Braun. The battle ended with the death of Kelley and the destruction of the Val Walo at the hands of the RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam "Zephyranthes" Full Burnern.
It was said that MIP engineer and technical officer, Ashley Horn, and his teammate, Ogan Montagne, developed the machinery and technology that led to the creation of the Val Walo. After a presentation given by MIP to its backers and sponsors by apparent head engineer and developer, Tokwan, Ashley talked to Simus Al Bakharov, and noted that the Val Walo will ultimately be the successor of the MA-05 Bigro. Ashley viewed the Val Walo as a means to train Pesche Montagne, and he later piloted a blue prototype Val Walo.
