Technology & Combat Characteristics
A heavily-armed long-range mobile suit developed by Noisy Fairy Squadron pilot and engineer Mia Brinkman for anti-air and anti-land battleship defense. The core unit is Mia Brinkman's previous YMS-09D Dom Tropical Test Type, but it is docked with a custom weapon platform built from a Gallop-class hover system and engines. Movable wings on the sides of the rear unit assist in attitude control. The movable wings also have weapon mounts to carry additional handheld weaponry, but the main armament of the Dom Gnomides is the 30cm main cannon which was salvaged from the wreckage of the YMT-05 Hildolfr. It is similar in concept to the Rhinoceros, which was fielded in the Oceanic front near the end of the war, and the dedicated heavy artillery mobile suit YMS-16M Xamel.
History
The Dom Gnomides was in service in the western North American territory with the Noisy Fairy Squadron at the end of the One Year War. It was designed by Mia Brinkman, prior to the United Maintenance Plan, and constructed at California Base. After the location of the Noisy Fairy headquarters, Tír na nÓg, was leaked by Gihren Zabi, in an attempt to divert Federation attackers from California Base, Mia Brinkman piloted it to defend their home base before it was destroyed. Mia later participated in diversionary tactics to cover the evacuation of California Base before it was recaptured by the Earth Federation Forces. Noisy Fairy fled east to Cape Canaveral, once again acting as a diversion, and drawing Federation pursuers further north through the Appalachian Mountains.
