Technology & Combat Characteristics
The Σ Gundam is a transformable mobile suit developed under Anaheim Electronics's Project Zeta. It was said to be a competitor of the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam, and its design concept was later inherited by the MSZ-010 ΖΖ Gundam. However, its development was put on pause and reprises after the MSZ-011 S Gundam, it then received the codename Kappa (κ) Gundam and the model number "MSA-014".
The Σ Gundam was conceived as the first mobile suit to transform into two separate components and utilize more of its movable frame. The two components are composed of an A-Part and B-Part, both of which are controlled by two pilots at the same time. The A-Part is equipped with a Psycommu System, allowing it to have better response and a powerful Minovsky Craft Propulsion System. The Σ Gundam is also armed with powerful weaponry. Since its made for Newtypes in mind, it is equipped with several Psycommu Missiles and a pair of Psycommu Hands. The unit is also equipped with a High Mega Cannon on its head and four beam cannons.
History
The Σ Gundam was initially jointly developed by Anaheim and Jaburo, and given the model number "RX-183". Its model number was later changed to "MSK-009" at Karaba's request. Finally, at AEUG's request, it was given the codename "κ Gundam" (Kappa Gundam) and the model number "MSA-014".
During UC 0093, Σ Gundam was deployed against the Neon Zeon's remnant forces at Jupiter.
