Technology & Combat Characteristics
The ORX-005 Gaplant TR-5 [Advanced Hrairoo] is the final development model of the Gaplant TR-5, incorporating newly developed parts to enhance its performance. These upgrades were originally intended to be installed on Murphy’s Hrairoo Unit 1. However, as the conflict escalated, the spare Unit 2 was also rushed into combat. As a result, the new parts were distributed between both machines, effectively completing them as separate but equally upgraded units. This change in plans was actually part of a broader operational concept known as the "area dominance specification." This approach offered numerous advantages—such as allowing for coordinated formation tactics that leveraged the unique characteristics of each unit, as well as enabling flexible parts interchangeability thanks to their shared frame and high compatibility.
A diffusion mega particle cannon is mounted on the upper section of the additional thruster block on the back. While the cannon itself is fixed in place, its firing angle can be adjusted to some extent by raising or lowering the base. Additional high-output thrusters are also installed at the rear of the Shield Binders on both arms. Due to their size and weight, these binders cannot be supported by the arms alone and are instead stabilized at two points using support arms extending from the rear thruster blocks. A long Open Barrel Beam Cannon is fixed at the center of the chest—an extended-barrel version of the shield cannon previously seen on the Hazel Owsla and other TR-series units. Additionally, a Cracker grenade holder is mounted on the left skirt armor, capable of storing and deploying up to three throwable Cracker grenades.
As part of the upgrade to the Advanced Hrairoo specification, the head sensor was changed from the standard mono-eye camera to a twin-eye configuration. The face guards on both cheeks were also extended, giving the head a silhouette more reminiscent of a Gundam-type unit.
History
During the final battle of the Gryps Conflict, the unit sustained moderate damage in combat against Gabriel Zola’s Rick Dias [Stutzer]. Although it was successfully retrieved by the Aswan along with Hrairoo Unit 1, it was ultimately jettisoned due to the risk of a secondary explosion.
