Technology & Combat Characteristics
Based on the data of the MSF-007 Gundam Mk-III, the Gundam Mk-IV was developed by the Augusta Lab in North America. It was equipped with INCOMs, a type of Quasi-Psycommu weapon still under development. However, its performance was unsatisfactory, a flaw that was later corrected by its successor, the ORX-013 Gundam Mk-V.
History
To counter Karaba, the Titans ordered Augusta Lab to develop a new Gundam-type mobile suit based on data of the Gundam Mk-III obtained from Anaheim Electronics. The result was the Gundam Mk-IV, the first Gundam-type mobile suit developed by Augusta.
The Gundam Mk-IV was notably equipped with the Quasi-Psycommu weapon INCOM, which was also being developed at Augusta. However, the technology would not become practical until the Gundam Mk-V. As a result, the Mk-IV was recorded as a mobile suit that laid the foundation for the Mk-V.
