Technology & Combat Characteristics
A variant of the RAG-79 Aqua GM specially tuned for ace pilots, the RAG-79-G1 retained the same basic design, and only received the name "Gundam Marine Type" due to its head resembling a Gundam's head. The Gundam Marine Type featured improved thrust and generator output, as well as a modified weapons loadout, including a harpoon gun mounted on its left forearm and an underwater-use beam rifle. Additionally, it is fitted with a wired periscope on the back of its head. It is often operated as a commander unit leading a platoon of Aqua GMs.
History
One Gundam Marine Type was deployed by the Titans in U.C. 0084 in an attempt to capture the Zeon Remnant stronghold of Monte Bolette alongside two RAG-79 Aqua GMs. However, all three fell to Syu Kyi O'Connell's MS-06FZ Zaku II Kai.
In U.C. 0096, a Gundam Marine Type was deployed alongside two Aqua GMs during the Sleeves attack on Dakar. During the battle, it managed to corner one of the enemy's AMS-129M Zee Zulu, but was ambushed from behind by another Zee Zulu and was destroyed.
