Technology & Combat Characteristics
An ultra-long-range support Mobile Suit made by reusing the RGM-79SP GM Sniper II, which had high basic performance. Due to the development of SFSs after the One Year War, the operating area of Mobile Suits within the atmosphere expanded to the sky, and they became a weapon that can easily perform air-to-ground attacks. It was thought that this problem would be solved with the introduction of TMA(TMS) during the Gryps Conflict but, due to the high cost of TMAs, their total numbers were insufficient. For this reason, even in the latter half of U.C. 0090s, the front lines still needed units for medium-range and long-range support as anti-aircraft weapons.
This unit is based on a 20-year-old machine but, as a result of narrowing down the equipment only for the operation of a high-output long-range beam rifle, it is both compact enough to be portable and integrated into a backpack. Furthermore, by combining the coolant and energy pack into a single unit and equipping it on the rear skirt, it is possible to continuously use it alone, even if only for a few shots, making it possible to continuously perform ultra-long-range anti-aircraft shooting.
