Technology & Combat Characteristics
The RGZ-91X Re-GZID was one of the machines born in the process of selecting the official adopted model of the RGZ-91 Re-GZ and was regarded as a prototype of the Re-GZ. Amuro Ray was involved in this machine's design, and sought to take a different approach from the Zeta Plus series, hence the naming scheme Re-GZ (Refined Gundam Zeta). Although Amuro considered this machine to be his ideal form of the Re-GZ, it was ultimately not adopted due to being more expensive than the final chosen model. Despite this, one unit was produced, and Amuro renamed it to the "Re-GZID" (ideal = ID) at Saphira Gardner's suggestion to differentiate it from the adopted model of the Re-GZ.
