Technology & Combat Characteristics

Superior to previous mobile suits deployed by the Space Revolutionary Army, the RMS-019 Crouda is an agile machine with heavy armor that can even survive a direct hit from a standard beam rifle. The Crouda is armed with a handheld beam rifle, two head-mounted vulcan guns, and a pair of back-mounted beam cutters, which are powerful beam blades that can slice a mobile suit in half or even cut into the hull of a ship. Despite its strength, the Crouda has one fatal flaw: an exhaust port at the front, which if hit by a direct shot, would cause a chain reaction that destroys the whole mobile suit. This flaw was discovered by GX-9901-DX Gundam Double X pilot, Garrod Ran.

History

After the catastrophic end of the 7th Space War, the SRA needed several years to reach its former military strength. During this time, its military developed the Crouda which soon became the first mass-produced mobile suit of the SRA in the After War era. In AW 0015, the SRA deployed the Croudas to crush the resistance organization, the Satelicon. During the battle, the Croudas proved to be a powerful enemy even for the new Gundam Double X, although they were later quickly defeated after Garrod discovered their weakness. When a new space war eventually broke out between the SRA and the New United Nations Earth, the Crouda participated actively in the conflict.
