Technology & Combat Characteristics
In response to the records of the variable Mobile Suits and Mobile Armors (TMS/TMA) introduced during the Gryps Conflict, the formation of a taskforce composed solely of TMS and TMA was organized within the Titans. The machine planned to command this new unit is the RX-110B Gabthley β, which is derived from the RX-110 Gabthley which was also operated by the Dogosse Giar's Newtype unit. Though mass production of the base RX-110 was shelved due to maintenance and cost issues arising from the complex transformation mechanics of its movable frame, it was redesigned based on its high basic performance in both MS and MA modes.
The transformation mechanics remain the same as the base machine, but the head has the improved sensors necessary for a commander unit. The main armaments are the Fedayeen Rifle Mk-II, which has enhanced long-distance bombardment capabilities, and the Multi Shield, which has a propulsion function in MA mode. In addition, missile pods were added to the waist as a ballistic armament, which the base machine did not have, instead of the shoulder mega particle guns, which were omitted.
History
In the latter half of the Gryps Conflict, troops with a Gabthley β as their commander were deployed in the three-way battle between the Titans, AEUG, and Axis. It is unknown how many survived the final battle of the conflict.
