Technology & Combat Characteristics
The RX-121-2P Gundam TR-1 [Hazel Owsla] is a version of the [[RX-121-1 Gundam TR-1 ［Hazel Custom］|RX-121-1 Gundam TR-1 ［Hazel Custom］]]] equipped with the Primrose emergency escape pod. The Primrose was developed in order to increase the survival and recovery rates of the pilot and the mobile suit data without reducing the Hazel's performance, but because the Primrose replaces almost the entire chest and torso, this version is called the Hazel Owsla to distinguish it from the standard Hazel. Since the Primrose was designed for high extensibility, the Hazel Owsla can support even more optional weapons and extra equipment functions, and can use various options to adapt to different combat situations.
Like the Primrose, the Hazel Owsla can also be equipped with a wide variety of backpacks and optional weapons, including a sub arm unit, the optical sensor unit and leg enhancement parts of the [[RX-121-2A Gundam TR-1 ［Advanced Hazel］|RX-121-2A Gundam TR-1 [Advanced Hazel]]], the tri booster unit of the [[RX-121-2 Gundam TR-1 ［Hazel II］|RX-121-2 Gundam TR-1 [Hazel II]]], or the multi connector pod and shield boosters of the Advanced Hazel. Most configurations of the Hazel Owsla carry a long blade rifle, and this machine can also use the Primrose's mega particle cannons and missile pods as built-in weapons. Most Hazel Owsla configurations use the same compact shoulder armor as the [[RX-121-1_Gundam_TR-1_［Hazel_Custom］#Configurations|RX-121-1 Gundam TR-1 [Hazel Custom] Sniper Unit]].
History
During the defense of Confeito in November U.C. 0087, Carl Matsubara piloted a Hazel Owsla unit based on Unit 2. Using its Open-Barrel Cannon, he inflicted heavy damage on an AEUG Zanzibar-class mobile cruiser, forcing it to retreat. Although the unit resembled the Type 2 Armament, its Primrose configuration was closer to a Type 1, equipped with a Long Blade Rifle and the same shield used by a standard GM Quel.
Matsubara continued to pilot this unit during the retreat from the Gate of Zedan in January U.C. 0088, as well as in the final Battle for the Colony Laser in February, where it retained the same equipment as at Confeito. Near the end of the Colony Laser battle, the unit was converted into the core mobile suit of the Fiver II with Type 4 Armament. After surrendering to the AEUG, Matsubara escaped using the Primrose, while the Hazel Owsla’s main body was destroyed.
