Technology & Combat Characteristics
The Gundam TR-6 was developed under the "Model Integration Plan," an initiative aimed at unifying the Earth Federation Forces’ mobile suit standards into a single, versatile model. Central to this design is the "Universal Replacement System," a parts-swap mechanism created in line with the plan’s goals. Built on the Gundam TR-6 [Woundwort] as its base, the suit can transform into a substitute for nearly any existing mobile suit by folding its limbs and equipping different reinforcement parts. In such cases, the replacement form is designated by appending "II" to the name of the original unit. The [Hazel II] introduced here is one such form, serving as a successor within the [Hazel] series lineage.
There are many variations of the Hazel, the original model for this replacement form, and naturally its successor, the Hazel II, also exists in numerous variations. While the Hazel itself was a prototype, its most standard configuration was the Hazel Custom. From this base, it could be refitted into multiple forms by swapping parts via the latches installed throughout its body. The Hazel Owsla, an upgraded version of the Hazel Custom that incorporated a Primrose mobile pod as its torso, was especially well-regarded for its overall performance and was even produced in limited numbers. One of the Hazel II replacement forms, illustrated in the "B" diagram, was developed as a successor to the mass-produced Hazel Owsla. This version integrates a Primrose II torso and is equipped with a Boost Pod. While it maintains the standard armament of rifle and shield, its design assumes further expandability through additional parts replacement. Notably, it also employs the Hazel’s limbs, retaining much of the original’s distinctive characteristics.
Another form of the [Hazel II] has the Boost Pod on the back of the Gundam TR-6 [Woundwort] replaced with a multi-connector pod mounting a mega particle cannon, while two Composite Shield Boosters are attached to its left and right sides. This configuration can be seen as an alternative form to the [Early Hazel High Mobility Specification], which mounted two Shield Boosters on the back of the [Early Hazel]. The name [Hazel II] is essentially a convenient label; if a more specific designation were applied, it might be called the [Early Hazel High Mobility Form II] or the [Woundwort High Mobility Form]. However, since the Gundam TR-6 is designed for highly modular equipment swaps tailored to each mission, it is nearly impossible to assign precise names or classifications for every variation. (Official military classifications likely relied on a complex series of letters and numbers that would be indecipherable to outsiders.) As a result, all TR-6 configurations serving as replacements for [Hazel] forms are collectively referred to under the blanket designation [Hazel II]. It loses the ability to enter the atmosphere due to the change of Boost Pod. Its carries a Kehaar II small shield and beam rifle that resembles a model used by the ORX-013 Gundam Mk-V.
The "D" diagram variation represents a high-mobility replacement form of the Hazel Owsla, distinguished by the addition of two Composite Shield Boosters mounted on its back. This form incorporates both the "B" equipment (featuring the Hazel’s limbs) and the "C" equipment (with Composite Shield Boosters on both sides). Like the original Hazel Owsla, it can transition into Type 1, Type 2, or Type 3 armament forms by equipping chest-mounted missile pods or swapping its backpack for a Tri-Booster unit. A wide array of handheld weapons is also available, with selections drawn from both Titans and Earth Federation standard arsenals, depending on mission requirements. These are merely a few examples, as the Hazel II—like the original Hazel—is defined by its extensive variation. Even when using the same parts, differences in characteristics or operational methods often lead to distinct designations, such as the Barzam II form, which adds features like a large head antenna and reinforced chest armor, or the GM II form, a simplified, lower-spec version outfitted with GM-type limbs.
