Technology & Combat Characteristics
One of many mass production MS model created by Anaheim Electronics (AE), to compete with SNRI's F80 Gunraid for Earth Federation Forces' (EFF) RGM-X project. Due to the technological superiority of SNRI, Anaheim launched the Silhouette Formula Project (SFP), a project to gather data from SNRI's Formula Project MS from industrial espionage. The RGM-111 series was designed in mind to use a VSBR type weaponry as its main armament, but due to AE lack of expertise to create such weapon hinder them achieve their goal, until they gathered the VSBR data in U.C 0116. The acquisition of F70 Cannon Gundam data during F71 G-Cannon development, alongside operational data gathered from RGM-111Y1, RGM-111Y2, and RGM-111Y3, resulting the RGM-111 Hardygun.
As the culmination of its predecessor operational data, makes the Hardygun a MS that had high compatibility with EFF mass production model period, such as the Heavygun and G Cannon, while also boast high firepower from its Beam Launcher, making it excellent for anti-MS combat. Despite its high performance, the implementation of F70 data affect its production cost, in which cause it to lost the competition to AE's other MS model the RGM-118X Proto Jamesgun. Despite its failure as mass production model, it was adopted by EFF's special forces unit due to its high performance, and it also become the basis of future MS based beam weaponry.
History
In U.C. 0121 a Hardygun was deployed to Oldsmobile Army's Olympus Mons fortress to rescue a team of F80 (Death Guns Specifications), from the F90 N-Type Verethragna. This unit piloted by Dyaus, and manage to distract the F90N Verethragna, and escaped the fortress destruction. Later in U.C 0123, a Hardygun piloted by Kevin Forest was deployed during a mock battle against RXF-91 Silhouette Gundam, but was ambushed by a disguised XM-01 Den'an Zon. Fortunately it was saved by the Silhouette Gundam and returned to the Bladewood. Later Kevin's unit was assigned to escort a Jeep carrying Tokio Randall and Iris Orlando on Zebra Zone 7th colony, but it was ambushed by Layla Lagiorr's AMS-119 Geara Doga and subsequently defeat it. Shortly after Kevin's unit would breach the Ra Cailum-class Ajax and rescue Tokio's RX-99 Neo Gundam Unit 2.
